Can samples be shorter or longer than 10%?
Yes, they can, provided it is just for specific books. Send us an email stating the modified length and we will make the change. Please bear in mind that we will not support samples that display only the table of contents or front matter because this would provide a terrible user experience.
Can I submit bespoke samples where I choose which chapters are displayed?
Yes. Bespoke samples can be submitted through our publisher portal (not through a digital asset distributor) provided the asset is marked "already a sample" and presents a continuous part of the book. It may be from the beginning or it might be — though this is not recommended — from the middle of the book.
Can I submit my ebook as PDF instead of ePub?
Yes, you can, although for accessibility reasons we always strongly recommend using reflowable or Fixed Layout (FXL) ePub in preference to PDF.
How long does it take to set up a publisher account?
Once we have received the assets, samples will be with all bookshops and retailers in our network in less than 24 hours.
Do you have a model agreement online?
Yes, our publisher terms and conditions can be found online and form part of our agreement with any publisher. They are completed by a short agreement on the work program, which is usually just two pages long.
What is my commitment length?
Our standard agreement is for one year with a thirty-day notice period.
In addition, we allow for a complimentary free period with seven days' notice under specific promotions with selected industry organisations. Details can be found on the benefit pages of the industry organisations with which we have agreements.
Do you support audiobook samples?
Yes, the Jellybooks Cloud Reader supports audiobooks. We do not currently distribute audiobook samples to retailers, but we can support audiobook samples for publisher websites, email newsletters and similar uses, providing a superior experience to services such as SoundCloud.
